Notice from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Government of Nepal, has determined the following minimum wages for workers (excluding tea estate workers) to be effective from the 1st of Shrawan 2082 B.S. in accordance with Section 106 of the Labour Act, 2074, and hence this notice has been published in accordance with subsection (3) of the same section:

1. In addition to the above wages, as per the Labour Act 2074, the Contribution-Based Social Security Act 2074, and prevailing laws, workers must mandatorily receive appointment letters/contracts, benefits such as provident fund and gratuity.
2. If Local Authority according to Section 13 of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074 or other entities granted the right to determine minimum wages under the laws of Nepal, such local authority or entity shall only set wages, not below than the minimum wage specified in this notice.
3. No one shall execute employment contract offering or accepting remuneration lower than the aforementioned minimum wages.
4. The monthly minimum wage is implemented under Section 28 of the Labour Act, 2074. In cases where there are discrepancies in other provisions regarding minimum wages, this specified wage will be used as a base for adjustment.
5. The notice published in Part 5, Volume 73, Number 24 of the Nepal Gazette dated 2080.04.32, regarding the minimum wages of workers excluding those in tea estates, has been revoked by this notice.
